Location
3 Victoria Street, Roseau, Commonwealth of Dominica (001 767 448 2896).
Established by Tony and Erica Burnette-Biscombe 26 years ago, the restaurant
is now managed by their daughter. It is an atmospheric 75-year-old stone
townhouse just off the seafront. Open 11am-11pm, except Sundays. (Our location »»»Here)
Decor
Exposed brickwork, flowers, dark wooden chairs and tables are
clothed in madras fabric in pink, orange, green, blue and yellow.
Ambience and clientele
The restaurant bustles, and there is often a queue for tables at
the tiny bar. Most customers are tourists, many from the cruise
ships that drop anchor in Roseau.
Service
Cheerful and friendly. Waitresses are dressed in traditional creole costume:
white lace embroidered blouses and colourful skirts made from the same
madras material as the tablecloths.
Menu
A combination of creole and more international dishes.
Starters include the Caribbean staple, callaloo soup
(dasheen leaves and coconut milk). Main courses range from steaks
and grilled chicken to a fish of the day. Daily specials are also
available, such as stewed octopus in a creole sauce. Desserts include
passionfruit cheesecake or locally grown bananas, flambéed at your table.

Oh yeah, and the food
Most comes from the Burnett-Biscombe's farm, where they also make their own chutneys,
